G4F at the Game Connection 2016!

Game Connection 2016Once again this year, G4F will attend to the Game Connection 2016 from October 26 to October 28! Come and meet us at the “Le Game” / Magelis stand. 2016 has been a full of new developments year so the Game Connection is the perfect opportunity to introduce you our services and vision.

Game Connection is an international event gathering thousands of developers, publishers and distributors of the video game industry. This is the meeting place for professionals in order to develop and create new business.

Game Connection also features a contest “Europe 16: Development Awards” between a number of independent games. The contest is open to all kind of games, regardless of the platform. The winners will be selected by a prestigious jury composed of key actors of the industry (Rovio Entertainment, Activision Blizzard etc.). The right moment for these developers to build visibility and recognition of the industry.

Eventually, several conferences will be held during the three days of the event. These presentations approach a wide range of topics based on video game industry, from Game Design to Localization and Crowdfunding. Check the complete conferences program.

Courant3D Festival in Angoulême on October 14 and 15

Festival Courant3DThe Courant3D Festival, International 3D and VR Short Film Festival will take place in Angoulême on October 14 and 15, 2016. Created by the “Prenez du Relief” association in partnership with the Pôle Image Magelis and the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l’Image, the Festival fights to support and improve 3D stereoscopic short films production, broadcasting and distribution.

During the event, G4F will hold a conference on Friday October 14, through our founder and CEO, Vincent Percevault, called “Music and binaural audio for VR“. The conference will present innovations and good practice to know when manipulating sounds in a virtual reality environment, but also the latest technologies and tools used in the industry.

You will also be able to attend exhibitions and other conferences based on VR behaviour and production as well. Moreover, the Festival organizes a 3D contest and a VR contest between several short films. Check the complete Festival program.

The Courant3D Festival, Angoulême meeting of 3D and VR short films, is going to be held on October 14 and 15 at the Cinéma de la Cité.

Ping Awards 2016: 2 OST from G4F nominated!

logo_pingawardsThe Ping Awards 2016 ceremony will take place on October 27 at the “Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie” in Paris. This year, we are proud to announce that Furi and Seasons after Fall, two sound projects powered by G4F, are nominated in the “Ping best soundtrack” category!

The Ping Awards 2016 ceremony rewards and promotes artists and personalities of French numeric arts and video game industry. The main objective is to highlight talents who are an integral part of the video game industry with the media, the institution and the general public. The event will be marked by several reports, musical live performances and numerous personalities invited on stage.

Furi developed by The Game Bakers, has a 100% electro OST composed by several well-known artists such as Carpenter Brut, The Toxic Avenger and Danger. Seasons after Fall, Swing Swing Submarine‘s platformer, delivers a much more soft and mysterious orchestral soundtrack composed by Yann Van der Cruyssen. Both projects have a fabulous OST, therefore their nomination is anything but a surprise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both games are also present in other categories. Furi is nominated in “Ping best console game” and “Ping best PC game” categories. Seasons after Fall is not only nominated in the “Ping best PC game” category but also in the “Ping best graphics” and “Ping best scenario” categories. The winners will be annouced during the ceremony on October 27.

Launch of the LocJAM 2016

LocJAM logoOnce again, Game Audio Factory is a partner of the localization contest LocJAM 2016 !

LocJAM is a non-profit videogame translation contest organized by team GLOC and the Localization SIG of the IGDA (International Game Developers Association).

An Open Source videogame, The Hotel of Madness, must be translated from english to the language of your choice. The jury composed of GAF and others international actors of the localization area, will deliberate and name the overall winner of his country in two categories, professional and amateur. The winners of each country will have the chance to be invited for a studio tour.

In addition to this, if you’re interested in the localization world, workshops will be organized all around the world by industry professional actors.

The contest is open until 27 March and the registration are still up for free so don’t hesitate to take your chance !

Best Localization Services Provider Award for Native Prime

Echoes of Auriga is out!

« Echoes of Auriga » a new soundtrack for Endless Legend !
More than one year after the release of the 4X strategy game Endless Legend developed by Amplitude Studios, the Game Audio Factory team is proud to annouce the release of « Echoes of Auriga », an add-On with 9 new tracks. The tracks will be added to the 30 tracks already produced, now making the game soundtrack 2 hours and 12 minutes long!

Available on : Steam, Bandcamp and most digital platforms (Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, etc…).

Composer FlyByNo created the work once again.
The soundtrack features the harp, the composer’s favorite instrument, and various percussion instruments played by Jean Noël Godard. The orchestral sections (choirs and strings) were recorded with the Paris Scoring Orchestra at Studio Ferber in Paris.

Echoes of Auriga OST

The team has already received, last year ,the Best Soundtrack – Ping Awards  for his work on Endless Legend from Amplitude Studios.

Our Ceo representing France in Oslo for Creative France!

logo_business-france-3Thanks to Business France‘s invitation, our CEO Vincent Percevault has represented the new French Startup & Entrepreneurs clusters, to a board of Norwegian investors and officials.

The meeting has been hosted at the French Embassy in Oslo on the 12th of October.

It was a first step for a future nordic mission from the French Tech Poitou-Charentes initiative, with the SPN cluster, which will take place in November. IMG_9693

GAF on stage with Solidtrack!

IMG_7905We’ve had the pleasure to be participate to Solidtrack demonstration for TV producers and French broadcasters. A live performance mixing magic, chroma key, motion capture with a Vicon setup, realtime tracking with Solidtrack, with an integration in Unity, on a soundtrack produced by us, the whole performance played and rendered in realtime !

The futur of the broadcast was in demonstration at the George Méliès School !
