The concept of this contest is to create an original sound creation of 80 seconds out of a pool of sounds (raw material).
The sound library is available at :
www.mixagefou.com

Sound creators have four weeks in order to submit their original work, all effects are allowed…

Each participant can play 4 times :
Once in the stereo category, once in the 5.1 category, once in the 7.1 category and once in the Auro-3D 9.1 category.

Then each partner choose the creations he likes and give one or more gift.
There is no first prize, no seconde prize, no third prize…only the choices of each partner.
This contest is open to everyone and to all nationalities.

 

There is no technical or aesthetic criterias for participation, only one condition:
to make a Crazzzzzzyyyyyy Mix.

The award ceremony will take place during the international festival of of digital arts :

In Enghien les Bains (France, 95880) in the outdoor place called « Jardin des Roses » on saturday june 9 from 6pm to 8pm with all partners (the award ceremony will be also broadcasted live on the website contest).
For this special event, an Absolute 3D sound system (based on WFS surround sound) from Sonic Emotion and Euphonia will play the winner`s creations to entertain attendees with the ultimate listening experience.
The evening will follow with a big free concert of Carl Craig on the lac of Enghien…

They always react with passion and are really interested in discovering the deep functionalities of the audio in our industry.

From AAA titles to browser games, there is tons of interesting things to watch, note, and not reinvent…

We have had a look at WWISE and XACT functionalities a bit, and a deep look at FMOD.

Update to Avid ProTools9

Game Audio Factory is using the Artist Series Consoles from Euphonix for a long time now. And we are really happy to update our ProTools HD rig to the new version 9.

The new ProTools9 now supports the Avid Artist Series and Pro Series consoles and controllers to enhance our editing and mixing workflow, thanks to added EUCON integration.

Plus, now we get the flexibility of using Pro Tools 9 with third-party Core Audio- or ASIO-compatible interface—or use Pro Tools 9 completely standalone…

Plus, PT9 comes now with built-in OMF/AAF/MXF file interchange support (you can exchange projects created in other audio and video software with Pro Tools and vice-versa) without bying the extra digitranslator.

Lot of reasons for us to switch to this new ProTools 9 exciting version.

We have updated our Sony Software package in order to enjoy the last updates for Sound Forge Pro 10 and Vegas Pro 9.

New features in Sound Forge Pro 10 include event-based editing, Zplane élastique Pro timestretch and pitch shift plug-in, plus the Mastering Effects Bundle 2 powered by iZotope™, and something really interesting for us : the support of Musical instrument file processing (.DLS, .SF2, .GIG) !

These two tools are major keys in our software line up !!!
