BIG Festival 2016!

logo_BIG G4F is attending the 2016 BIG Festival (Brazil’s Independent Games Festival) in São Paulo! Every year, the BIG Festival exhibits the best independent video games in the world.

From June 25th to July 3rd, many independent developers from all over the world will get the chance to present their games to the public. The fair will also allow the professionals of the industry to meet each other. In order to encourage that, other events are also organised: the Business Forum, the BIG Impact and the BIG Playable City.

These forums will take place from June 29th until the end of the festival. A website is available for professionals who would like to plan their meetings and organize their schedule. Do not hesitate to contact us or to come and meet us if you are there.

Forums will also include various conferences, dealing with technical elements such as the game engines Unreal and Unity, as well as with cultural differences between the markets of the industry, eSports, Transmedia, and so on…

A 100% electro OST for Furi!

FuriLogo_Transparent_resizeG4F Records can now unveil the brand new OST for Furi, developed by The Game Bakers.

The OST was created by seven prominent artists from the French and international electro scene: Carpenter Brut, Danger, The Toxic Avenger, Lorn, Scattle, Waveshaper and Kn1ght. Each original track has been created exclusively for the game to entertain you through the hours of boss combat! The tracks brilliantly convey the personality of each boss with a unique mix cyber-fantasy.

You can now hear and download the first three tracks from the original soundtrack on the Furi Bandcamp site. The full OST will be available on the game release date, 7th July 2016.

In addition to the digital version, G4F Records is issuing a double vinyl edition for the first time ever, designed by artist Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai). Pre-order now on Bandcamp to make sure you don’t miss out on your copy this summer!

Finally, to celebrate the game release, players and electro fans can enjoy a great concert of music from the original soundtrack to the game. Many of the musicians who helped create the OST will be on stage performing the compositions written for Furi and their favourite tracks. The event is also an opportunity for gamers to test a final version of the game and to get lots of goodies.

logo-vef For the fifth consecutive year, the city of Angoulême will host the Videogame Economics Forum on May 11 and 12 2016, the only free event for all professionals!

This new edition, entitled, “Finance, Marketing, Prospective“, will allow the attendees (producers, investors, financial directors…) to meet each other and to share their knowledge and know-how on many different subjects around games.

The program of these two days of conferences and workshops intends to be pragmatic and practical. Imagined by the France’s videogaming trade union (SNJV), the topics will cover the different financial levers of the companies, the risks linked to different business models, the user acquisition on mobile gaming, and even the new virtual reality market.

G4F will naturally be on site, don’t hesitate to come meet us!

Conference “Sound in VR” by G4F

logo_FMX(resize)The FMX2016 will take place from April 26th to 29th in Stuttgart, the event will gather many professionals and students from sectors like Video Games, Animations and Transmedia. During these 4 days, visitors will be able to attend a lot of conferences about sound design, visual design, programming and even virtual reality (VR).

VR-Test

Our CEO, Vincent Percevault, will be in Stuttgart to give a lecture on sound design in VR video games and environments. Indeed, while the development of VR practical application is evolving very fast, innovation in sound design is much more discreet.

Thanks to his large experience in sound design and to the numerous innovative projects he took part in, Vincent will show the innovations of the field not only for the sound asset creation but also for the 3D sound integration. There is still much to discover but the technologies are now within easy reach for the area to go further.

The conference called, “Sound in VR Games, and in VR environments in general“, will be held on wednesday 27th April. All the informations about the event and the other conferences are available on the official website.

A new faction for Endless Legend

logo_amplitudeDuring the Endless Day 2016, Amplitude studios announced a new extension of one of his best games, Endless Legend.

Besides all the new gameplay features, such as new units, items end ressources, the extension will also provide a new faction called the Allayi, closely affiliated to the Endless universe. The whole content of the extension is available here.

G4F Records collaborated with Amplitude Studios to enrich this new content with a new soundtrack. You will discover two new tracks, composed by FlyByNo which perfectly magnify the Allayi universe. G4F has also provided the voice recording for the extension. The Shifters extension and the new faction for Endless Legend will be release on 7th April.

Launch of the LocJAM 2016

LocJAM logoOnce again, Game Audio Factory is a partner of the localization contest LocJAM 2016 !

LocJAM is a non-profit videogame translation contest organized by team GLOC and the Localization SIG of the IGDA (International Game Developers Association).

An Open Source videogame, The Hotel of Madness, must be translated from english to the language of your choice. The jury composed of GAF and others international actors of the localization area, will deliberate and name the overall winner of his country in two categories, professional and amateur. The winners of each country will have the chance to be invited for a studio tour.

In addition to this, if you’re interested in the localization world, workshops will be organized all around the world by industry professional actors.

The contest is open until 27 March and the registration are still up for free so don’t hesitate to take your chance !
